| Well, well, well. It's been too long, old friend. I've been working harder than an altar boy at a priest conference. It has been so busy, but Fall break's coming up here in not too long (I think at the end of next week.) I will be back in KC for the weekend. I will be needing to eat at the following establishments: El Mariachi, Houston's, and 54th Street.
So, how bout them Cards! I'm watching the first game of the Astros/Cards series and it's gonna be good. I have a good feeling about this season, so we'll have to see what happens.
I'm (still) reading The Poinsonwood Bible, and it's so good. I 'm just about done and will soon be moving on to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I also read Blue Like Jazz recently and it was really good. Easy read, but some powerful ideas. Also, b-t-dub, my favorite new show is Commander in Chief.
Alright, I've gotta get back to the game, so I'll have to check in later. I love all of my fans with all of my heart! Keep sending me all the fanmail! Chance
| Well, well well. It's been too long. I like keeping this tradition of 9-10 days between posts. Although, I do love getting my subscription digests so I can keep up on everyone.
Not much is going on here. I'm just doing work and horsing around (like that?) I've been keeping up for the most part on my academic reading, and even some on my extracirriculars. Right now I'm reading Poinsonwood Bible (still) and Repenting of Religion by Greg Boyd. I'm pretty sure he's a genius.
I went home last weekend for PVL (personal vision living) in KC and had a blast. When I go home it makes me miss everyone, so I'm going to see if there's any way that I can go to grad school in KC. I'm just sick of being away. The only problems is that there's not many programs in KC and they're very competetive. So we'll have to see.
This morning (Friday, the day I don't have any classes), I got the glorious surprise of a fire alarm at 8 f'ing AM. Sick. It boggles my mind why construction workers are permitted to use BLOW TORCHES in a residence hall where there are RESIDENTS! w/e. But I finally got back to sleep and the Lord renewed me.
Gotta go eat. You know me, just a busy bee for the one and only. Chance
| I think I nearly had a psychotic breakdown yesterday. I had a huge test, a quiz, and a presentation. Too much! I could maybe do all that in one week, not one day. Praise to the lord, the almight the king of creation that it is over. We'll just have to see what I got on that damn test, because he did some sneaky stuff on it....damn you Dr. Gilner (but not really because I also love you, muah!)
Right now I'm reading The Poinsonwood Bible and it very good...definitely a book people should read. Well, how could it not be if Oprah chose it for her book club? That's pretty much impossible.
This weekend I will be in KC for PVL (Personal Vision Living...a seminar from Breakthrough.) It should be fun....I'll learn some stuff and have a blast with my friends. It seems like a good idea to find out what in the world I want to do with my life, seeing as how I need to start applying to graduate programs in the next few months. We definitely should not be asked to , or allowed to for that matter, decided what will be done with the rest of our lives at the ripe old age of 21. Bad idea.
I'm gonna make some breakfast and go to social pscyh. This one goes out to all those affected by God's Almighty Baptiizing Wind and Fire and Brimstone! Chance
| Well, the comedians from Best Week Ever were here tonight. I just cannot believe how funny some people are...I think you really have to be a genius to make up stuff that is that hysterical. So, that was a blast.
The other night I went to the Brooks and Dunn concert, and it was amazing. It was also kind of funny that Dunn was wasted and they had to turn off his mic.
Classes are going pretty good. I've technically read half of Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen for my women in lit class, but have actually read about 4 pages and then the summaries on Sparknotes. Oh well, who needs to know all that shit anyway? I just love the fact that college students pay so much money to go to school, and then do everything they can think of not to do the work. We just want them diplomas.
I had a mini-breakdown yesterday when I realized that I about to graduate college and know no trade/skill whatsoever. Some people learn how to be a nurse, lawyer, pilot. Not me. Oh no....I know how to read sociology books. If there's anything less practical than undergraduate work in psychology (one of my majors), it can only be work in sociology. It has little to no real world application whatsoever. I don't know how many times my boss might ask me to use Durkheim's theory of societal moral norms to get the job done. All to say...I think I might do a psy.d. (doctor of psychology....does therapy) when I graduate so that way I will have a job that I can do. It might have been helpful if I'd have thought of that sooner.
Okay, I'm going to go read for my sex/marriage class (a book by a sociolinguist) and the Poisonwood Bible (it's good, read it), then bed. Goodnight
| Well, it's Labor Day weekend. I can't believe it's already here again. It's really scary to think that I am a senior and after this year, I will never be an undergraduate again. Seems like it all just started. Oh well. I don't know what I'm going to do next year, but it better be good.
I just had first week of classes last week and it was pretty good. I always get overwhelmed and try to keep up, but I eventually drop off and stop reading for classes. We'll see how this time works out.
Also....4. That is the number of times that I have eaten Taco Bell this week. I just love them damn cheese kaysadillas. They're going to be the end of me.
I'm currently read 2 books, magazine, and a ton more books for classes. I can tell you for sure though that I will not be reading St. Thomas Aquinas for another philosophy (I tricked into reading that silly bitch before, and I'm not getting bamboozled into that quagmire again.)
Gotta go to mass. Gotsda let me lights shine. Chance
